A large percentage of the case load at Ardene House involves lameness. A very important factor involved in treatment of many of these cases is correcting imbalances in the feet by use of remedial or therapeutic shoeing.

Our in house farrier, Donald Nicol AWCF works at Ardene House Veterinary Hospital every Wednesday morning. Donald's work at Ardene House is wide and varied and runs from basic hoof capsule balancing through to the hand making of specialist shoes for a great variety of lameness problems such as heart bars shoes, egg bar shoes, rim shoes, swan neck shoes and extension shoes.
