Dr Graham Munroe BVSc PhD DESM CertEO DipECVS FRCVS is a recognised RCVS
equine specialist. Graham has been associated with Ardene House for the past
5 years, providing specialist support surgical expertise and backing to our
equine veterinary team.
Graham qualified, with honours, from Bristol Veterinary School in 1979. He spent 18 months
in practice at Wendover, followed by 4 years at Rossdale and Partners in Newmarket, undertaking
mainly thoroughbred stud work and racing stable practice In 1984 Graham moved to Arundel in
Sussex where he gained RCVS certificates in Equine Orthopaedics and Equine Stud Medicine.
He began lecturing in equine surgery and reproduction at Glasgow Vet School in 1988, and
subsequently gained his RCVS Diploma in Equine Stud Medicine. During the next 6 years he ran
the equine surgical and reproduction referral service at Glasgow. Graham gained his PhD there
in 1994, for research into equine neonatal ophthalmology. He was awarded the Fellowship of the
RCVS, by examination, in equine ophthalmology. Graham then moved to Edinburgh Vet School where he became director of the undergraduate course in Orthopaedics and Anaesthesia - specialising in Equine Orthopaedics and Reproductive Surgery. In 1997 Graham became a diplomat of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons.
In 1998 Graham entered private equine consultancy practice at the Flanders Veterinary
Services based in the Borders.
