Rebecca graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh in 2019 and joined the farm vet team at Ardene House that same summer. She is originally from California but loved the Scottish people, weather, and haggis enough to stay in Scotland after graduation.
Before vet school, she studied at the University of California Davis, graduating in 2013 with degrees in Ecology and Classical Civilizations. She wasn’t raised on a farm, but fell in love with cows, sheep, and farm medicine while working as a veterinary assistant to a local farm vet.
She has a very keen interest in pathology and pain management. She also enjoys teaching, having trained in teaching methods during vet school to earn an Associate Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy in 2019.
In her free time, Rebecca likes to ride horses in eventing and dressage, see as many live theatre and music events as possible, and cuddle her cat Jake. She can usually be identified on farm by a woolly hat with farm animal patterns that were lovingly knitted by her mum back in California.
