Mopsy is a 6 year old Rabbit. She has been awarded with this month’s Braveheart Award as she has been very brave during her treatment and surgery to treat an abscess in her cheek and gut stasis.
Mopsy was starting to have difficulty eating due to discomfort in her mouth that was caused by the abscess in her cheek. Due to this she also went into gut stasis. Gut stasis is a serious problem in rabbits where when they stop eating their gut stops moving. This is considered an emergency and it is very important to get them eating again and usually have to be syringe fed.
Mopsy made a full recovery and is happily hopping around again.
